Nonostante la notorietà del suo nome, l’opera e la ricezione di Vincenzo Galilei restano in larga parte ancora oggi poco indagate. Questo volume propone una rilettura della sua figura ed eredità intellettuale in chiave multidisciplinare, attraverso materiali inediti o raramente citati. I contributi spaziano tra filosofia, musicologia, scienza, storia e arte, restituendo la complessità del suo pensiero e mettendo in luce il ruolo rivestito dalla musica nella formazione del pensiero filosofico e scientifico dell’età moderna.

Despite the fame carried by his name, to this day Vincenzo Galilei’s work and its reception have been largely neglected. This volume provides an analysis of his figure and intellectual legacy from a multidisciplinary perspective, including unpublished or rarely cited materials. The contributions span from philosophy to musicology, science, history and art, and highlight the complexity of his thought and the role played by music in the formation of philosophical and scientific thought in the modern age.

The presentation will be held in Italian.
